Frequently asked questions.

Where is the bakery located?

After-School Snack Attack is a fully licensed Cottage Food Bakery based in San Carlos, CA. That means that everything we bake is made in a home kitchen that is licensed by San Mateo County to ensure that it meets food safety standards. What sets our bakery apart is that we are dedicated to small-batch desserts that are always baked from scratch without the use of additives or preservatives to improve the shelf life of ingredients or final products. Since we’re not churning out high volumes of cookies and cakes in a huge commercial kitchen, we can promise that everything we sell tastes just like it came from your grandmother’s dining room table (or at least my grandmother’s!) We know that high quality ingredients make a difference so we’re dedicated to using only the best ones and we stick with organic, seasonal products as much as possible. We promise that you’ll taste the difference!

Do you deliver baked goods?

Sometimes. For custom orders, we will deliver if the customer is within a 15-20 min radius of Snack Attack HQ and we can agree on a delivery window that works for both of us. For weekly snack attacks, including pre-orders, customers need to be available to pick up their baked goods.

Do you have a traditional menu?

Anything you see on our “Menu” page can be ordered as a custom order by scheduling and paying for it on our “Custom Orders” page. Custom orders require a half dozen or one dozen minimum depending on the item. If you’re craving something that isn’t pictured, fill out the contact form and let me know what you’re looking for. We can usually bake something similar, if not the exact thing. We host monthly Snack Attacks from the cottage bakery that include a selection of cookies from our menu and a monthly “theme” where we launch new flavors/menu items.

Where do Snack Attack recipes come from?

Like all bakers, I take inspiration from so many places. I draw on childhood favorites, as well as bakers, blogs, and cookbooks that I love. Often, I’ll start with their recipes and tweak them until they are just the way I like it. Sometimes, I tweak a lot, and others it’s just minor adjustments. On my Instagram account, I always give shout-outs to any baker whose recipe was the inspiration for my bake. Some of my favorites right now are Smitten Kitchen, Sarah Kieffer, Zoe Francois & Erin Jeanne McDowell.

Are your baked goods allergy-friendly?

All of my products are packaged with labels that include common allergens like dairy, gluten, soy, nuts, and eggs. I bake in a home kitchen so none of my products are cooked in an environment that is truly nut or gluten-free. I am working on creating snack attacks that are gluten and allergen-friendly because everyone deserves a craveable snack. Stay tuned.

How often do you host Snack Attacks?

Once a month! Check the “Upcoming Events” page on this site, join my mailing list or follow me on Instagram and Facebook to stay up-to-date.
